Teams and projects

AIESEC Graz is an entirely student-run organisation consisting of various teams which operate in six areas on a local level. Below, you will find a short introduction of the current teams.

Finance and Law (F & Law)

The financial system is strongly embedded in the organization as a regulatory body that is responsible not only for controlling in financial means, but consciously providing the financial frame for the plans and strategies of the organization. The Finance team has to be in very close, complete and prosperous cooperation with every other team, in order to enable to execute the organizational strategies and plans as well as to support improvement and sustainable progress. After being in the Finance team, you will also have the knowledge about auditing.

This team is also responsible for aligning the contracts of AIESEC Graz with the Austrian law and making sure that all our operations are legal.

External Relations (ER)

The members of this area get in contact with companies and raise partnerships with them. This team is responsible to sell internships in Graz and, in addition to this, to win companies as learning partners or sponsors of the organization. ER works together with every functional area and project to see what is needed, what we can offer to companies and what the Local Committee can get out of it. Through trainings, the team provides AIESECers the knowledge about calling and company meetings.

Talent Management (TM)

The role of the TM team is to guarantee, that all the processes in the organization are happening smoothly, contributing to the recruitment, development and retention of the people identified as talents. Moreover, the team is responsible for the learning, personal and professional development of all members in the Local Committee. The goal is also to promote national and international conferences and support all members to attend them. People in this team develop an understanding for Human Resource Management (training development, organizational behavior) and gain coaching and communication skills.

Communication (COM)

The Communication team is split into internal and external communication. The main focus is increasing the popularity of AIESEC among students and companies as well as in our society. Thus, building up cooperations with different media partners as well as a proper branding and communication of AIESEC are essential. To achieve this, the team is responsible for designing posters, flyers and the Annual Report as well as working on our homepage. The goal is not only to be present outside of AIESEC, but also to inform our members about important events and issues in our Local Committee through tools like newsletters, mailing lists and Wiki

Outgoing Exchange (OGX)

The OGX team is responsible for selecting, preparing and re-integrating members who want to do an internship through AIESEC. For this, the team members give trainings about matching, promote Exchange in the Local Committee and also have personal talks with people who are interested in going abroad. The team supports Exchange Participants in the process of searching an internship as well as visa and other official issues.

Incoming Exchange (ICX)

ICX is about caring for people coming to Graz for internships. In order to guarantee them a great experience here, the team is also responsible for supporting the interns within the visa process and other official issues. In addition, the team works closely together with the ER team and supports them in company meetings with their knowledge.

Projects

The projects we run in our Local Committee are drivers for the positive impact we want to create in our society. Furthermore every project team and its leaders are provided with trainings, ongoing coaching and the right learning environment in order to develop effective leaders and to provide our stakeholders through our projects with the best service possible.

Global Village

In March 2012 the next Global Village will take place in Graz, where people from other countries can present their culture (with food, music, dances, pictures, etc.).

The Global Village team is responsible for finding interested people from other countries who would like to participate, for organizing the event (agenda, logistics, etc.) and promoting it among the students in Graz.

Career Days

In May 2012 the next Career Days will take place in Graz. The fair is based on interaction, because the goal is to connect the students directly with the companies (e.g. through workshops, case studies, etc.).

The Career Days team is responsible for finding companies, NGOs, etc. which want to participate in the workshops, organize the event (logistics, etc.) and promote it among the students in Graz.

School Project

Four to six interns from different continents will hold 2-3 days workshops in Styrian schools about their country. The goal is also to improve the intercultural communication within high school students and raise the awareness about the topic.

The School project team is feedbacking the workshop content and supporting the interns in the design of the materials needed. The team is fixing the dates for the workshops and is going to the schools together with the interns.

NGO project

The goal of this project is to support local NGOs by providing them qualified interns from abroad.

The NGO project team is responsible for getting in contact with the NGOs, searching for suitable interns and supporting them before and during their stay.

Conferences

AIESEC Graz is organizing three conferences in 2011:

  • Train the Trainers Conference in February
  • National legislative Conference in May
  • National Conference in December

The organizing team for the conference is responsible for finding sponsors/partners (in order to make it financially sustainable) promoting the conference in AIESEC Austria and offering the necessary logistical support at the conference site itself.
